Wegner has explored the use of plywood in chair design on only a few occasions,
most notably with this design. While his three-legged chair displays a masterful handling
of the medium, Wegner prefers to concentrate his efforts on solid-wood construction.



自身のシェルチェアから14年後、イームズのラウンジチェアから７年後、
ウェグナーはひさびさに合板の椅子（ Three-legged Shell chair ）
をデザインします。

"It was not possible to work with solid wood and
with laminated constructions at the same time."

"I chose solid wood."

これが彼の結論でした。そう、彼は無垢材を選択したのです。
