Throughout a career spanning some fifty years, Nanna Ditzel has designed chairs
that according to her, "explore all possibilities:technical aspects,material,shape
and function and-something which is very important to me-the human content."
Fascinated by butterflies, she has observed these fluttering creatures over a number
of years and attempts to capture their sense of floating lightness in her designs.




「６４ＣＨＡＩＲＳ」には３人の女性デザイナーが登場します。イームズ夫妻のレイ・イームズ、コルビュジェのパートナーであるシャルロット・ペリアン、そしてこのナンナ・ディツェルです。蝶に魅せられた彼女は長年にわたり、そのかろやかな舞姿を観察し、自分のデザインに取り入れています。この「ベンチ・フォー・ツー」は２0年のブランクののち旭川のデザインコンペで金賞を受賞しました。

女性デザイナーらしい優美な姿です。愛する人と喧嘩したときはガウディのバトリョベンチ、仲直りしたらこのベンチと、セットでお求めになってはいかがでしょう。上から見てもみごとに美しいデザインですね。
