バウハウス第３代目のそして最後の校長となった、ミースの作品です。バルセロナ万博のドイツ館で、スペイン国王夫妻を迎えるためデザインされました。モダンな雰囲気がただよっていますが、ローマ時代のえらい人がすわる椅子からヒントを得ているそうです。右はミースの「Chaise longue」です。 金属枠の鏡面仕上げをみても、背と座の革の手の込んだ縫製をみても、なかなか豪華な椅子です。さすがに国王の椅子だけありますね。ゆったりとすわって葉巻などくゆらせるのが似合いそうです。 |
